| Pastor Jim was born and raised in
central Pennsylvania. His parents were home missionaries involved
with church planting and evangelistic work. Pastor Jim attended
Tennessee Temple University, Southern Seminary External Education and
Berean Bible Institute. He was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor
of Sacred Theology from American Bible Institute. He has pastored in
Florida, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. He served in the country
of Haiti as a conference speaker, evangelist and youth speaker during the
late 1970's. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of two
mission ministries. He is married to Anna and they have three
children. The Winder's were part of the original three families that
began Cornerstone in a home in 1990.
Pastor Jim's philosophy of ministry includes being a pastor that is in touch with the people on a personal basis. He desires to see the lives of people changed by the working of the Holy Spirit through other Christians. He feels the church should constantly be looking for ways to further the ministry of Cornerstone both to the body of Christ in this church and to others outside in our community and around the world. He is a strong supporter of missions both home and abroad. He desires a hands on approach to ministry and feels that all the work of the church should be accomplished by the body of the church in its entirety. He feels that all Lord has engifted the church with what is needed to complete the plan that God has for His work. Each person has a special place to fill and their involvement means the work of the Lord goes forward without someone else carrying the load. Pastor Jim enjoys preaching and teaching the Word. His desire is that the Bible become a daily part of our lives along with prayer for the powering of the church to it's fullest extent. He feels that a strong pulpit will produce strong leaders throughout the church which will result in a strong beacon for Christ. Pastor Jim will be pleased to take time and discuss with you any spiritual matters you may have. Feel free to call him at the church or at his home at 570-379-2655. |
